The Friends of Abington Dog Park
The Friends of Abington Dog Park is a 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer group that runs the park for the town. We are responsible for coordinating maintenance such as weeding, raking, replenishing stone and sand, repairing fencing, and trash collection. While the town absorbs the cost of our dumpster and water supply, the Friends group fundraises to support all other needs, including weekly trash collection, the park's biggest expense at a cost of about $6,000 a year. The group is led by a 7-member board of Abington residents that meets throughout the year, including one Annual Meeting each year to hold Board elections and set priorities. All park users are welcome to attend meetings, announced in News and held at Town Hall.
